Common Ground Relief is a state and federally registered 501c3 not-for-profit organization providing short term relief for victims of hurricane disasters in the Gulf Coast region and long term support in rebuilding the communities affected in the New Orleans area.

Common Ground Relief is a volunteer run not for profit organization based in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans. We run a diverse range of projects, from New Home Construction, to a Free Legal Clinic, to Community Gardening and the education of school children about Food Security and Environmental Science with our Garden of Eatin' Program.

In partnership with Robert Wolfe Construction, we work to elevate existing houses and construct new ones for returning residents throughout Orleans, St. Bernard and Jefferson parishes.

Take a look at the slideshow to see some of our completed New Construction and House Raising Projects.

If you have construction skills, consider volunteering! You can help to reduce the cost of rebuilding for returning homeowners.

Civic Duty, a socially-minded footwear company, has designed a special New Orleans themed shoe, the sales of which will benefit Common Ground Relief in New Orleans.

Built by job trainees, volunteers and our construction partners our Model House not only shows what our New Home Construction Program can do, it also provides great new volunteer housing!

With our partners, the Restore the Earth Foundation, we're replanting the wetlands with Gulf Saver Bags!
