Service Description

Spend a day in the swamp! KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: -always bring water and a lunch! -wear long pants and layered tops, as the weather can change throughout the day. -close-toed shoes are a must, boots are available to borrow from CGR -leave fancy electronics, jewelry, etc at home! -bring any emergency medications such as inhalers and epipens, alert project leaders to ANY allergies or medical conditions so we can stay safe -prepare to get a little muddy! -if boating to planting site, alert project leaders to your comfort level in boats/water. Life jackets are provided and mandatory while boating. DAY-OF SCHEDULE We meet at CGR headquarters 1800 Deslonde by 8:30 am to gear up with boots, gloves, and other materials that CGR provides. We carpool or caravan to our project site to arrive by 9 am. From CGR, Bayou Sauvage is a 20 minute drive. Upon arrival, circle up for instructions and safety overview Unload supplies and observe planting demonstration to start planting trees! Take breaks as needed and communicate with project leaders any concerns or questions you may encounter. We plant until 12 pm, which is our lunch break! After lunch, we continue planting until 2-2:30 pm At 2:30 pm, begin packing up supplies to prepare for departure Depart from planting site by 3 pm Share any photos or reflections of the day with us! We offer sliding scale payment options to help cover staffing and material costs. If our pricing options are cost prohibitive, please reach out.
