Volunteer Housing

Common Ground Relief House

Volunteer housing is available in Common Ground Relief’s two next-door wood frame houses, which are also home to our main office and the CGR Free Pantry. Common Ground Relief’s space is in the Lower Ninth Ward, a few blocks from our state licensed nursery facility. The housing is fully equipped with kitchen access, indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, shared bathrooms with hot showers, sleeping quarters, and laundry facilities. The volunteer housing has central air conditioning and heat.

Each volunteer is provided with:

  • Pillow, sheets, pillow cases
  • Bath Towels

Please bring your own:

  • Shower flip flops
  • Personal toiletries
  • Face and hand towels

Common Ground Relief keeps a fully stocked medical kit on hand.  However, we recommend that you bring a personal supply of band-aids, preferred product for minor aches/pains, and anti-itch cream.
