The Anita Roddick Advocacy Center functions as a community resource for residents returning to rebuild their homes. Through the Center, residents may request work from Common Ground Relief volunteers and use computers, the Internet, and a fax and copy machine free of charge.
The Center also helps those whom we cannot provide with direct assistance by connecting them with other reliable services throughout the city.
The Center is run by a paid office manager and volunteers, who are able to offer technical assistance and aid to community members in navigating a range of decentralized resources, from construction materials and donation opportunities to free yard maintenance for the elderly and disabled.
While we do not have the capacity to act as case managers, we make it a priority to keep in touch with everyone who comes through our doors.
The Anita Roddick Advocacy Center is open 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday – Friday. Stop by for a chat, or call 504.942.3737
