the Anita Roddick

ADVOCACY CENTER

The Anita Roddick Advocacy Center functions as a community resource for residents returning to rebuild their homes. through the Center, residents may request work from Common Ground Relief volunteers and use computers, the Internet and a fax and copy machine free of charge. It is the site of our community kitchen and we provide space for local organizations to hold their meetings.

The Center also houses the Common Ground Relief Legal Clinic and the Mos Chukma Institute providing talk therapy sessions for adults and art therapy for children.

We are able to offer technical assistance and aid to community members in navigating a range of decentralized resources, from construction materials and donation opportunities to counseling on Road Home related issues.

We have the capacity to act as case managers and we make it a priority to direct homeowners to proper organizations if we cannot provide the requested service directly.

The Anita Roddick Advocacy Center is also the reception area for all short and long term volunteers and it is situated in the midst of our wetlands demonstration area.
